Skill Levels for Tennis Lessons TBT SKILL LEVELS: We currently offer classes for 5 levels of playing skill with these general guidelines: PINK 1 PINK 2 PINK 3 Novice, little or no previous instruction. Has had some general instruction equivalent to 4 private classes. Has knowledge of basic strokes and can manage a slow rally. RED ORANGE GREEN YELLOW Advanced Beginner; you have over 3 months to 1 year of instruction. Low Intermediate; you have had at least one year of instruction. Intermediate; 2.0-2.5 level, about 2-3 years of instruction and you can compete in game play. Advanced Intermediate; ready for league competition at 2.5-3.5 level.
