Pink 1: Novice, little or no previous instruction.
Pink 2: Some general instruction equivalent to four private classes.
Pink 3: Knowledge of basic strokes and ability to manage a slow rally.
Red: Advanced Beginner; over three months to one year of instruction.
Orange: Low Intermediate; at least one year of instruction.
Green: Intermediate; 2.0-2.5 level, about 2-3 years of instruction, capable of game play.
Yellow: Advanced Intermediate; ready for league competition at 2.5-3.5 level.
